Slush and sleet will blight Korea's Lunar New Year holiday, the Korea Meteorological Administration forecast on Wednesday.
It warned drivers to be careful, especially when they head back to Seoul, as snow and rain are forecast in some parts, not least mountainous Gangwon Province.
The KMA expects average temperatures to be three to 10 degrees Celsius higher than usual across the country as warm air moves into the country from the south.
Skies will be cloudy in most parts of the country from Friday to Sunday morning, with more than 5 cm of snow expected in Gangwon and North Gyeongsang Province on Friday.
Heavy rain is expected on Jeju Island on Saturday and Sunday and across the entire country on Monday.
